WHAT TO EXPECT - HOW TO PREPARE
First of all, everything is optional. We simply want you to walk with us at whatever capacity you desire. Be it ruck weights or a weighted backpack/rucksack to feel the burn and carry those fallen warriors off the battlefield or just carry an American flag, it's up to you. We highly recommend you stay hydrated throughout the ruck walk. Bring plenty of hydration or water stations, along with restrooms, will be provided along the route. Wear comfortable walking shoes, cool clothing and a hat for direct sun. Sunscreen is also recommended. While walking you may like to listen to Mic Stephens talk about his memories with his son, Riley Stephens, as he recounts his legacy and sacrifice. (Available on the Home Page) Rain or shine, the Ruck Forward ruck walk will take place unless a major weather event occurs as in lightning or tornadoes.
PARKING
Please park in the Granbury Baptist Church parking lot. You will be able to walk across the grass to the Event Area at Granbury Church of God, up the hill. Golf carts will be on site for anyone needing assistance. USE CAUTION WHEN ENTERING AND EXITING WEATHERFORD HIGHWAY.
